Library Service and Materials

The library system provides a quality fiction and nonfiction collection of adult, young adult and juvenile materials for pleasure, information, and research. 

In addition to books, the library system offers a large variety of:

  • Audiobooks on cassette and CD

  • Videocassettes and DVDs

  • Large print materials

  • Magazines and newspapers

  • Pamphlets

  • Specialized Oregon maps

    These materials can be found by searching the library catalog

The library system also provides:

Access to online materials -

Log-in to over 50 databases using your library card and pin numbers to access information from auto-repair, health, small business, research and online courses to choosing your next book to read.

Book lists covering a wide range of topics for all age groups tailored to our library's collection.

Personalized information - 

Call or come in to locate information on any topic, or ask us online. Our experienced staff will help find the answers.  Need help 24/7?  Our fellow Oregon librarians are available via chat, email or text message at Answerland

Special Programs -

The library sponsors regular programs, tours, workshops, book clubs and storytime for children of all ages. Visit your branch web page for more information, or check out our upcoming events calendar.

Meeting Rooms -

A meeting room is available at the Douglas County Central Library in Roseburg and some of the branch libraries.

Copy Equipment -

A black and white photocopier is available at all of the libraries and a microfilm/fiche reader is available at the Douglas County Central Library in Roseburg . There is a small charge per printed page.

Unfortunately we do not have a public fax, scanner or notary public.
